Police officers from Caloocan were relieved from their posts following the death of a 17-year-old in a police operation in Caloocan, National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde said on Friday.
In a radio interview on DZBB, Albayalde said the relief involved the police community precinct commander (PCP) of Caloocan and three other police officers.
“Pagkakita natin sa news d’iyan ay pina-relieve ko na ‘yung tatlong pulis na involved diyan plus the PCP commander (Once we watched the news over (the killing), I immediately ordered the suspension of three cops involved there and the PCP commander),” he said.
The Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division and the PNP Internal Affairs Service will also conduct an investigation on the incident.
Albayalde said the police officials were relieved to be able to conduct a fair investigation.
The victim, identified as Kian Loyd delos Santos, a Grade 11 student, died after he was shot during a police operation in Barangay (village) 160 on Wednesday night.

Police claimed he resisted authorities and allegedly fired at them, prompting them to fire back.
But witnesses claimed the police account was not true.IDL
