Explosive goes off at North Cotabato state college; no one hurt

KIDAPAWAN CITY — Unidentified men set off a still unknown explosive outside the gate at the back portion of the Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST) campus in Barangay Doroloman in Arakan, North Cotabato on Wednesday.

Senior Inspector Argie Celeste, the Arakan town police chief, said no one was harmed in the explosion that took place as the state-run college was preparing for its 50th anniversary celebrations.

Celeste said the attack was aimed at disrupting the celebrations.

It was not clear whether the recent attack was linked to similar explosions in the past and the previous shooting of several school officials.

Tension remained high in the school because of factionalism among its officials. JE
