Parojinog siblings, et al. test negative for drugs
The Parojinog siblings and 11 other persons arrested in last month’s raid in Ozamiz City tested negative for drug use.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory operations officer Supt. Ramos Bergonio cleared Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog and her brother Reynaldo Jr. as well as 11 other men rounded up in connection with the alleged illegal activities of the Parojinog gang from Barangays Bagakay, San Roque, Sta. Cruz and Cogon.
“Screening test conducted on the urine specimens of the arrested living persons gave negative result for the presence of methamphetamine and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) metabolites, both dangerous drugs,” Bergonio read from a report, referring to “shabu” and marijuana.
Bergonio said the drug tests were conducted on the suspects immediately after their arrest.
PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos said the result of the drug tests will not affect the cases of illegal possession of firearms and explosives as well as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
