A 41-year-old former bank executive accused of stealing P17 million over several years was arrested at the Pasig City Police headquarters on Tuesday morning.
Mariebel Osorio, former cash unit head of Union Bank of the Philippines, had turned herself in so that she could post bail on a previous charge.
Police, however, verified that a warrant for her arrest had been issued by Judge Rowena de Juan-Quinagoran of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 166.
Osorio was first arrested on July 1 inside the Union Bank office in Pasig City after a bank representative filed a complaint against her.
She was then released for further investigation.
According to the police, Osorio had made unauthorized cash transfers of over P17 million from the Ortigas, Pasig cash center to the one in Caloocan. —Jodee A. Agoncillo
