Malacañang will formally transmit the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) to Congress this week. Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said it would be up to Congress to consolidate the proposed law with the bill filed by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, which calls for the creation of a Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
“The Presidential Legislative Liaison Office will officially transmit the draft Bangsamoro Basic Law to Congress this week,” Abella told a press briefing. “We leave it to Congress to act on the matter with dispatch, including consolidating the Palace version with House Bill No. 6121 filed by Rep. Gloria Arroyo,” he added. —Philip C. Tubeza
