Village chief nabbed in drug bust in Cagayan town

TUGUEGARAO CITY – A 49-year-old village chief was arrested on Sunday night after he allegedly sold two sachets of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to two undercover police agents in Centro 2 village, Enrile town in Cagayan province.

Gilbert Callangan, 49, Centro 2 barangay captain, had been suspected of supplying shabu in his community, said Laurefel Gabales, Cagayan Valley director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Callangan was charged at the prosecutor’s office in Cagayan on Monday for selling illegal drugs. Villamor Visaya Jr., Inquirer Norther Luzon
