Pasaka Festival
Residents of Tanauan in Leyte province pay homage to the town’s patroness, Our Lady of the Assumption. Pasaka, which means invitation to progress and luck in Waray, is also a thanksgiving party for visitors and for the blessings of the past year.
Aug. 16
Pavvurulun Afi Festival
“Pavvurulunan” or “oneness” is celebrated in a festival in Tuguegarao City in Cagayan province. One of the festival’s highlights is the trade fair, which gathers various industries to feature their unique products. Activities are also held to showcase the culture of the Ibanag.

The culture and traditions of the indigenous peoples of Davao region are showcased in Kadayawan, the premier festival of Davao City in Davao del Sur province. Events include street dancing featuring tribal songs, dances and games as well as a trade fair and a float parade.

Looking for Johnny Moon (Paghahanap kay Juan Luna)
A creative media arts festival in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte province that pays homage to Juan Luna, arguably the country’s greatest painter whose works include Spoliarium and Blood Compact. It offers seminars, forums and interactive learning that aim to foster homegrown Ilocano talent in film directing and editing, script writing, sound design, graphic design, animation and game development.
