2 dead in Pasay drug raid

Two drug suspects were killed while another was arrested when policemen raided an ongoing shabu session in Pasay City on Wednesday night.

The Southern Police District identified the fatalities as Reynaldo Bermoy, 43, a resident of F. Muñoz Street, Barangay 43; and Vilmar Gaton, 24, reportedly from Taft Avenue.

A concerned citizen tipped off the police about the alleged drug session happening at the house of Rolando Damian also on Muñoz Street.

Members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the Intelligence Unit of Pasay police conducted a joint operation to verify the information.

Upon arrival at the place, the policemen said they saw four people, including Bermoy and Gaton, in the act of using shabu.

When the suspects noticed the presence of the policemen, they fired shots using .22 and .38-caliber revolvers that were later recovered in the scene, police said.

The gunfight resulted in the death of Gaton and Bermoy.

The two other suspects were able to escape the house but Zaldy Quiban, 45, was later arrested in a follow-up operation.

Three sachets of shabu were found in Quiban’s possession when arrested, police said.
