Cebu Pacific announces rescheduled, canceled flights
The temporary closure of the runway at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport on Friday has prompted Cebu Pacific Air to reschedule and cancel some of its flights.
In a travel advisory Wednesday, Cebu Pacific Air announced 20 rescheduled and 29 cancelled flights because of a six-hour runway closure from 2:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
The Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) said the runway will be closed to do preliminary works for the second half of the runway repairs.
“The runway repairs are precautionary in nature and are designed to ensure that the best possible level of safety is afforded to the passengers and stakeholders of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport,” MCIAA said in a statement.
It also requested passengers to get in touch with their preferred or booked airline for potential changes in their travel plans.
“MCIAA is asking for the public’s understanding for the inconvenience that the passengers and other airport users will be exposed to. We apologize for whatever inconvenience this may cause even as we ask for everybody’s cooperation at this time,” it added.
