Communist leader Jose Maria “Joma” Sison needs professional help for his hallucinations over an alleged assassination plot against him, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief General Eduardo Año said Wednesday.
“I believe he needs professional psychiatric help to treat his hallucinations. His statement is another figment of his imagination,” the AFP chief said in a text message.
Año was sought for comment after the National Democratic Front revealed an alleged plot by the Central Intelligence Agency and the AFP to assassinate Sison in The Netherlands and overthrow President Rodrigo Duterte.
The plan, while the NDF said it has yet to be verified, would be supposedly executed by CIA assets and military officers close to the AFP chief.

“If I remember it right, ‘yan din ang kwento niya nung 1999 during the time of former President Estrada (when) he also alleged that a hit team was sent by President Estrada and former PNP Chief Dir. Gen. Panfilo Lacson to kill him and Alex Boncayao Brigade and Rejectionists Faction operatives,” Año said.
“Exactly as the same plot as narrated by Sison. He is not only a criminal and master of deception but a congenital liar,” he said. IDL
