More than 70 lanterns, made by Pampanga artisans, were switched on Tuesday night to honor the 50th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).

The San Fernando-based company Quiman Trading was commissioned to produce the lanterns, which feature the Asean emblem encircled by images of the anahaw leaf, the sampaguita and the Mindanao vinta.
