The southwest monsoon or “habagat” is affecting the western section of northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Monday.
Ilocos region will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms, according to the bulletin issued at 4 p.m. by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, however, will only expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Pagasa also reported that moderate to occasionally strong winds from the southwest are blowing over the northern and western section of northern Luzon.
Thus, nearby communities are expected to be wary of moderate to occasionally rough coastal waters in these areas.
Other areas, however, will only experience light to moderate winds from the south to southwest, with slight to moderate seas. – Renz Paolo B. Regis, INQUIRER.net trainee
