The Supreme Court on Sunday denounced the murder of Butuan City Judge Godofredo Abul Jr. and the wounding of his wife in yet another violent attack on a member of the judiciary.
“Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno and the associate justices express their outrage and sadness at the killing of… Abul and the injuries inflicted on his wife,” the high court said in a statement.
The high court called for a full investigation of the case.
Police said Abul and his wife Bernadeth had just stepped out of their house in Butuan on Saturday when two gunmen aboard a motorcycle shot them repeatedly. —Marlon Ramos
