A hospital in Pasay City has been hit by theft, with doctors saying they had lost a total of P50,000 in cash, police said.

PO3 Mario Golondrina, the case investigator from the Pasay police, on Friday said three rooms used by doctors at San Juan de Dios Hospital on Roxas Boulevard were ransacked on July 31.

The theft was reported by Necomides Pascua, the hospital’s security officer.

An initial investigation showed that Rooms 13, 14 and 15 on the Roxas Wing, which were assigned to five doctors, were looted.

Suspecting an inside job, Golondrina said the thief apparently entered the rooms by creating a hole on the ceiling.

Security videos have yet to prove useful in the investigation as the hospital’s closed-circuit television cameras cover only the hallways and not the office interiors. Dexter Cabalza
