DAVAO CITY – Two earthquakes hit Bukidnon and several parts of Mindanao on Saturday afternoon.
The stronger of the Bukidnon quakes struck at 3:39 p.m., a magnitude 4.8 that traced its origin 10 kilometers northwest of Maramag town.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Cagayan de Oro City and Kidapawan City and felt much weaker in the Davao areas.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said it was not expecting any aftershock or damages in the tectonic quake that had a depth of 9 kilometers.
Around 4:16 p.m., another quake – this time a magnitude 4 – struck 14 kilometers southwest of Valencia City.
Phivolcs said no damage or aftershock was also expected in the second quake, which had similar depth of focus as the first tremor.
The Bukidnon quakes took place a few hours after a much stronger tremor occur in Sarangani province.
