Robbers steal close to P1M from Pangasinan rural bank

DAGUPAN CITY—A rural bank lost close to P1 million in cash to robbers at Bugallon town in Pangasinan province, police investigators reported on Tuesday.

The robbery was known after a security guard discovered a hole that was bore through the right wall of the Bugallon branch office of the Rural Bank of Anda on Monday (July 31).

The robbers reportedly used two hydraulic jacks to make an opening from an abandoned house near the bank, the police said.

The robbers destroyed the bank vault and took P955,550 cash, as well as a laptop computer.

Investigators also found four face masks, three pairs of gloves, three pairs of jogging pants, a black undershirt (sando), a long sleeved shirt, and tools including a hand saw and a concrete drill.

The Pangasinan police office is still following up leads to identify the perpetrators of the bank robbery. JPV
