3 dead in Albay road accident
LEGAZPI CITY — Three motorcycle riders were killed in a road accident in Malinao town in Albay province on Saturday afternoon.
Chief Insp. Virgil Bibat, acting chief of Malinao police, said a car driven by Jimmy Borlagdan, 33, resident of Barangay (village) Sugod in Tiwi town, occupied the left lane of the road and accidentally bumped head-on the motorcycle used by the victims Pedro Clet, a retired police officer and resident of Barangay Libtong, also in Tiwi, and two unidentified men in Barangay Cabunturan at around 4:56 p.m.
The three motorcycle riders died of serious head injuries, Bibat said.
Based on the initial investigation, Borlagdan admitted that he was drunk and fell asleep while driving.
