Cops looking for con man posing as senator’s kin
The Quezon City police has started looking for a man who earlier identified himself as a grandson of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile after an investigation led them to believe that he was a con artist.
Supt. Audie Madrideo, Quezon City Police District Station 2 commander, said that the man they were looking for had identified himself as Achilles Silva Ponce Enrile or Lee Mayoralde Ponce Enrile.
He claimed that he was 32 years old and a call center agent.
Madrideo said that they checked the man’s claims after he reported that he was held up by a taxi driver on Nov. 7 in Quezon City.
“The Senate President denied that he has a relative by that name and he wants the impostor arrested,” he added.
Based on the information the man gave the police when he reported the robbery, his father is Senator Enrile’s son while his mother is Lovella Silva Mayoralde.

Ironically, the same items were also reported missing by a man who said he was robbed in a toilet cubicle inside a mall on Oct. 13.
Madrideo said that their investigation turned up that the victim had identified himself as the senator’s grandson although he gave his name as Lee Mayoralde Ponce Enrile.
Another check showed that a man with the same name was confined at The Medical City on Sept. 1 and that he left the hospital without paying more than P600,000 in medical bills.
Witnesses who were shown still photos taken from video footage confirmed that only one man was behind all three scams.
