300 families lose homes in Malabon fire

About 300 families were left homeless by a fire in Malabon City on Wednesday morning.

The blaze quickly spread despite the rains and engulfed about 150 homes on Dulong Herrera Street, Barangay Ibaba, officials said.

At least two residents were injured, including Fely Dillo, the owner of the house where the fire started shortly after 5 a.m.

Dillo sustained second-degree burns on her shoulders and was brought to the hospital for treatment, according to F02 Ericjude Belicario of the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Authorities declared the fire out at 8:22 a.m. The cause of the fire remained under investigation. Mariejo S. Ramos
