The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administraion (Pagasa) issued a yellow, or heavy rainfall, warning at 7 p.m. Wednesday over Metro Manila and nine Luzon provinces due to the southwest monsoon.
The following provinces also got the heavy rainfall advisory: Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan and Tarlac also received the heavy rainfall advisory.
According to Pagasa, a yellow warning means “caution” must be observed, and residents are advised to monitor the news for further updates.
Rainfall of 7.5-15 mm could be recorded in an hour and could also cause flooding.
Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains, meanwhile, is affecting Nueva Ecija and Quezon (Districts 1 and 2) which may persist for three hours, the state weather bureau said.
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management councils in the areas mentioned are advised by Pagasa to “take appropriate actions, monitor the weather condition and watch for the next advisory.” –Pathricia Ann V. Roxas /atm
