Rains to persist in Metro Manila, nearby areas
Heavy rains are expected to continue in Metro Manila and nearby provinces as the state weather bureau issued a yellow rainfall alert anew on Wednesday afternoon.
Metro Manila, Bataan, Bulacan, Tarlac and Zambales, were placed under yellow rainfall warning in the bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) at 2 p.m. Pagasa said the southwest monsoon (habagat) continued to affected these areas.
Meanwhile, Nueva Ecija and the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) region remain affected by light to moderate, occasionally heavy rains, Pagasa reported.
Only Pampanga province has been added to the list.
Aside from the monsoon, Tropical Storm Gorio is also affecting the Philippines, prompting the cancelation of classes in some cities in Metro Manila and nearby areas.
