A low pressure area being monitored by the weather bureau has intensified into a tropical depression on Tuesday afternoon.
“Gorio” was last spotted 565 kilometers east of Legazpi City, Albay, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
The tropical cyclone packed maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 65 kph. It moved north northwest at 15 kph.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon continued to affect the western section of Luzon and Visayas.
Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, the regions of Ilocos, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol, Western and Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan, Pagasa said.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
