Families of the slain troopers and police officers in Marawi City on Tuesday received financial assistance from Go Negosyo during a turnover ceremony in Malacañang on Tuesday.

President Rodrigo Duterte led the turnover of the P250,000 cash assistance to each family of the 101 soldiers who died in the Marawi siege.

“The events that have transpired in Marawi over the past weeks are truly heartbreaking. Many of our brave soldiers have laid down their lives in order to bring safety and peace amidst the violence and struggle,” Joey Concepcion, founder of Go Negosyo and presidential adviser on entrepreneurship, said.

“Through this occasion, we want to honor these courageous souls by showing that their felow countrymen-from the government to the business sector-have not forgotten about their ultimate sacrifice and their loved ones who miss them dearly,” Concepcion added.

Representatives from the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce, PLDT, and the DU30 Cabinet Spouses Association were also present at the turnover.

Government officials who joined Duterte during the ceremony included Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief Gen. Eduardo Año, and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa. /atm
