Northern, central PH to get rains due to LPA, monsoon

Metro Manila, the regions of Ilocos, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Bicol, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Eastern and Western Visayas and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms on Tuesday, the state weather bureau has said.

In its 24-hour forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said low pressure area (LPA), as of 3 a.m., was monitored 440 km East Northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, while the southwest monsoon or hanging habagat is affecting the western section of Luzon and Visayas.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over the northern and western section of Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over Visayas and Mindanao.

The coastal waters along these areas, Pagasa said, will be moderate to occasionally rough. Light to moderate winds blowing from southwest to southeast will also prevail over the rest of Luzon with slight to moderate seas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country, Pagasa added. IDL
