MANILA, Philippines—A female suspect who allegedly hired professional killers in the slay of Ramgen Bautista has sent surrender feelers, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome said Thursday.
“As of now we cannot really say the case is closed or solved because there is still another suspect, a woman, who sent feelers for her to surrender,” Bartolome said during the Manila Overseas Press Club forum Wednesday night at the Intercontinental Hotel in Makati City.
Glaiza Vista, tagged as the “missing puzzle,” along with her boyfriend Norwin de la Cruz, allegedly served as the middleman who hired the gunmen who shot and stab dead Bautista on October 28. Bautista’s younger brother Ramon “RJ” Joseph and sister Ramona have been implicated in the killing.
RJ and two other suspects—Michael Jay Nartea and Roy Francis Tolisora—have been arrested, while Ramona, Vista and De la Cruz remain at large.
Bartolome was optimistic the case would soon be solved.
“At the rate the investigation is going, we are confident of a successful prosecution and speedy solution of this case,” he said.
