President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday told the military to be “unforgiving” to the communist rebels amid their attacks against government forces.

“I’m ordering the military and the police, walang patawaran (sa mga komunista,). E wala silang patawad sa atin (to be unforgiving to the communist rebels as they are very unforgiving to us),” Duterte said in a press conference after his second State of the Nation Address (Sona) at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.
The President earlier met with the protesters outside the House of Representatives complex right after his Sona.
“Itong left sila yung paliku-liko ang policy (these leftists, they are the ones constantly swerving),” he said.
He reiterated his earlier stand that he no longer wants to conduct peace talks with the communist guerillas.
“No more talks (with the communists.) From now on, do not question me about the Reds,” he said.
Asked whether his decision to end peace talks with the communist rebels was final, Duterte said “yes.” JPV
