Clouds to loom over Duterte’s 2nd Sona

Metro Manila will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light to moderate rain on Monday as President Rodrigo Duterte delivers his second State of the Nation Address (Sona).

The southwest monsoon or hanging habagat is affecting the western section of  Luzon and the Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Pagasa is monitoring a low pressure area about 470 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar..

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms will be experienced over the Visayas and the regions of Mimaropa, Bicol, Caraga, SOCCSKSARGEN, Davao and over the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over the northern and western section of Luzon. Winds from the southwest to west will affect the eastern section of the Visayas and of Mindanao, Pagasa said.

The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough, it added.

Light to moderate winds blowing from southwest to southeast will prevail over the rest of Luzon and coming from southwest to west over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas, it also said. FM / CBB
