Cops nab 9 suspected drug pushers in Quezon

LUCENA CITY–Police nabbed nine suspected drug pushers in a series of buy-bust operations in different areas of Quezon province on Friday and Saturday, police said.

Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento, Quezon police director, said Lucena anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested Maica Andoy Gonzaga and Cherelyn Vega Mellomida in Barangay (village) Ibabang Dupay around 3 a.m. Saturday. The suspects yielded 11 plastic sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 50 grams and worth P92,500 in street value.

Lucena police also arrested Rosalie Reynoso Flores and Nel Tano Menor after the two sold shabu to an undercover police agent in Barangay Dalahican shortly after midnight. Police confiscated nine sachets of shabu weighing 2.49 grams and worth P4,606.

In Sariaya, police collared Robert de la Cruz after he sold shabu to a police asset in Barangay Concepcion Palasan around 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Seized from him were two sachets of shabu weighing 24.39 grams with an estimated street value of P45,121.

Police agents also arrested suspected drug pushers Ramelo Magdami Lajota and John Marco Cacal in Candelaria town; Christian Tolentino in Calauag; and Mark Joseph Aguilar in Catanauan in separate buy-bust operations early Saturday. JPV
