Mactan runway repairs affect several Cebu flights

Several Cebu Pacific flights were cancelled on Friday due to the temporary closure of a runway at the Mactan Cebu International Airport, which has been implementing minor maintenance work and pavement repairs.

The airline company posted the following cancelled flights on its website:

5J 561/554 Manila – Cebu – Manila

5J 586/551 Cebu – Manila – Cebu

5J 562/553 Cebu – Manila – Cebu

5J 563/564 Manila – Cebu – Manila

5J 608 Cebu – Clark

5J 611 Davao – Cebu

DG 6588/6589 Cebu – Ormoc – Cebu

Affected passengers may rebook their flights for another scheduled travel within 30 days from the original departure date.

The passengers may also opt for a full refund or just placed it on a travel fund for future use.

The six-hour runway closure might also delay flights to and from the following destinations:

Domestic

Clark, Davao, Ozamiz, Bacolod, Dipolog, Pagadian, Busuanga, Dumaguete, Puerto Princesa, Butuan, Iloilo, Siargao, Cagayan, Kalibo, Surigao, Caticlan, Legazpi, Tacloban, Camiguin, and Ormoc.

International

Hong Kong and Taipei

Cebu Pacific said the affected passengers should contact the airline’s hotlines at (+632) 702-0888 or (+632) 230-8888 or visit its social media pages for further information and inquiries.

“We sincerely hope for our passengers’ understanding as this situation is beyond our control,” the management of Cebu Pacific said in its advisory.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) had released a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM)on the runway closure from 2:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Friday, affecting scheduled Cebu Pacific flights in Manila. Rogelio Nato, Jr., INQUIRER.net trainee / JPV/rga
