A special bids and awards committee has been formed by the Department of Health for faster procurement of medical supplies for uniformed personnel.
“Right now, we’ve created a special bids and awards committee to handle the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) and military, not just AFP, also the PNP (Philippine National Police…,” Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial said on Monday.
“We’ve used the Marawi incident to categorize the procurement under emergency procurement. It will be procured within 60 days,” she added.
Last month, President Rodrigo Duterte criticized the slow procurement process of health equipment for the AFP.
