Lucena drug suspect cheats death for a second time
LUCENA CITY – A drug personality survived a second attempt on her life here early Monday, police said.
A police report said a gunman armed with caliber .38 revolver forcibly entered the house of Cyrelle Aranas-Escalona in Barangay (village) Gulang-Gulang at about 1 a.m. and shot her in the back of the head.
The gunman immediately fled after shooting the 31-year-old victim.

Escalona survived the shooting and was brought to a hospital where she is undergoing treatment. Police recovered a bullet fragment at the crime scene.

Police records showed that the victim was arrested and detained in 2011 on drug charges.
