The Makati City Public Safety Department (PSD) has recorded over 58,000 traffic violations from January to May, with disobedience to traffic control signs and signals topping the list at 15,349.

Based on the report of the PSD’s Ordinance Violation Receipt Redemption Management Division, a total of 58,753 violations were recorded due to on-street operations and the strict enforcement of traffic rules.

“Our traffic enforcers and other PSD personnel are under strict orders to apprehend disobedient motorists and conduct daily on-street operations against illegal parking, illegal terminals and other violations that cause traffic congestion within the city,” Mayor Abby Binay said in a statement.
