Majority of Filipinos expressed support for the martial law declaration of President Rodrigo Duterte, a 2nd Quarter Social Weather Stations survey revealed.

The survey, released on Tuesday and conducted among 1,200 respondents from June 23 to 26, showed 57 percent said “it is just right that he declared it in the entire Mindanao.”

Only 29 percent said “it should have been declared only for Marawi City and the province of Lanao del Sur while 11 percent said “it should have been declared only for Marawi City, the province of Lanao de Sur and nearby provinces.” Two percent remained undecided.

The survey also showed that 63 percent  disagreed with the statement, “Pres. Rodrigo Duterte should also declare martial law in the Visayas.” Only 23 percent agreed while 13 percent were undecided.

The same survey also revealed that 67 percent disagreed with the statement, “Pres. Rodrigo Duterte should also declare martial law in Luzon.” Only 23 percent agreed while 13% were undecided.
