WeatherPhilippines Foundation, Aboitiz-led private weather information provider, has been recognized as one of the country’s most outstanding organizations in communication management at the 15th Philippine Quill Awards.
The foundation received an Award of Excellence (Non-Profit Campaigns) and the Top Division Award in Communication Management during the awards ceremony held by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Newport City, Pasay City last July 5.
“WeatherPhilippines is humbled to have received such honor from IABC. Now, more than ever, we are more committed to providing free and accessible weather knowledge to everyone, ensuring the safety and resilience of our communities in the years to come,” WeatherPhilippines Vice President and General Manager Dave Michael V. Valeriano said in a statement on Tuesday.
Aboitiz Group said three of its initiatives also received Awards of Excellence: Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc.’s (AEV’s) BetterWorld Campaign (for internal communication), and Aboitiz Eyes, (both for publications and digital communications).
Aboitiz said AEV’s BetterWorld Campaign is an internal cascade of the company’s Aboitiz BetterWorld policy that “inspired a paradigm shift in the way team members delivered the Aboitiz commitment to build a sustainable enterprise that can be entrusted to future generations,” while Aboitiz Eyes is the firm’s monthly digital publication that has been “transformed into a powerful communication tool engaging a growing and diverse audience.”
AEV’s Media Relations Program (Media Relations) also won a Merit Award.
Abotiz said its media relations program was “instrumental” in building, enhancing, and protecting its reputation and effectively implemented without an outsourced external agency, thus resulting in significant savings for the company.
“We are pleased to receive these accolades on behalf of the Aboitiz Group and our hardworking team members. Communication is an integral part of the way we do business in Aboitiz, and what we say or do is just as important as how we communicate it,” AEV said.
“Inspired by these awards, we will continue implementing communication initiatives that drive change for a better world by advancing business and communities,” it added.
The Philippine Quill Awards is considered the country’s most prestigious awards program in the field of business communication.
Organized annually by IABC Philippines, the award body has given its seal of approval to the most reputable organizations and corporations in the nation for over a decade, emphasizing the excellent use of communication to achieve business goals, and to make a difference in society. Maila Ager/JE
