When United States President Donald Trump had to leave the G20 Summit for a brief period, he let his daughter Ivanka Trump sit in with world leaders, reports AFP.

The session Ivanka Trump attended was on Africa and immigration. She was included in the delegation to join the panel discussion on women’s economic empowerment.

Although allowing other high-ranking officials to sit in is a common practice in the summit, Americans met the move with uproar because of the younger Trump’s lack of political qualifications, despite being an official, albeit unpaid, adviser of her father.

Trump has since reacted on Twitter, stating that the move was “standard,” and that public reactions would be different had it been former presidential daughter Chelsea Clinton:

She has since gained the support of American celebrities and personalities, including actress and comedian Rosie O’Donnell, “Supernatural” actor Misha Collins, and Youtube personality Chris Crocker:

Trump has infamously made the presidency a family affair, even hiring his daughter’s husband Jared Kushner as an adviser. Meanwhile, his son Donald Trump Jr. is embroiled in a controversy wherein he has allegedly met with Russian informants to obtain damaging information on Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Others also argued about both of the presidential daughters’ qualifications:

Comedianne Michelle Wolf, who writes for “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah”, pointed out someone who should’ve been at the meeting: Vice President Mike Pence.
