CITY OF MEYCAUAYAN—The Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) opened its third new exit along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) on Tuesday, easing up traffic flow on the inner roads leading to Maycauayan and Valenzuela City.
The Lingunan Exit in Valenzuela City is a private-public partnership project aimed to decongest traffic within the vicinity.
The Valenzuela businesses donated the Exit to the government to serve as an alternative route to have convenient access to their commercial and factory sites.
Valenzuela has the most number of exits, entry roads and interchanges because of the volume of traffic headed in and out of the city, said MNTC president Rod Franco.
Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian has asked MNTC to open two more exits in the villages of Mapulang Lupa and Parada in the coming months to improve traffic.
On June 30, MNTC opened the Pandayan Exit and the Libtong Exit in the City of Meycauayan, and its mayor, Henry Villarica, also asked for additional exits to solve occasional traffic slowdown at the NLEX interchange there. JPV/rga
