A man was found dead hanging from a tree on Saturday morning in a vacant lot along University Avenue in Quezon City, the road leading to the University of the Philippines-Diliman campus.
The man was identified by the police as Adel Sanchez, 37, whose body was found by a security guard around 5 a.m.
Sanchez was identified through his barangay ID as a resident of Cana Street, Barangay Greater Lagro, Novaliches, Quezon City.
Chief Insp. Elmer Monsalve, homicide section chief of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said the man was known to residents of Barangay UP Campus as a jeepney terminal barker.
The body bore no signs of external injury based on the initial examination and remained at Pacheco Funeral Homes at press time. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
