MILF welcomes new Army chief support for peace process

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – The Moro Islamic Liberation Front on Wednesday welcomed the support of the new Army chief, Major General Emmanuel Bautista, for the peace process.

“This is a welcome development as far as our quest for genuine, lasting and honorable peace is concerned. We are hoping and praying that both armed forces will respect all signed agreements, including our ceasefire, in order to provide conducive environment so that the peace process will succeed,” MILF spokesperson Von Al Haq told the Philippine Daily Inquirer by phone.
