MANILA, Philippines—The Supreme Court has raffled off the separate petitions filed by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her husband, Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo, questioning the travel ban issued against them by Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.
Speaking in a news briefing Wednesday, Supreme Court spokesman and administrator Jose Midas Marquez said a raffle committee composed of Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio and Associate Justices Arturo Brion and Teresita de Castro assigned the Arroyo couple’s petitions to two justices in-charge.
Marquez said the court en banc would deliberate on the petitions during its regular session on Tuesday.
However, Marquez said the two justices in-charge may recommend the issuance of a temporary restraining order before Tuesday.
