Light to moderate rains will continue in parts of Luzon and Visayas despite the exit of Tropical Storm “Emong,” the state weather bureau said Tuesday.

The southwest monsoon or hanging habagat is affecting the western section of Luzon and Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Emong was last spotted 570 km north northeast of Basco, Batanes, or outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experienced over the regions of Western Visayas, Ilocos, MIMAROPA, and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna and Quezon, Pagasa said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. FM/IDL
