The port of Tagbilaran in Bohol province was established by virtue of Executive Order No. 435 signed by former President Carlos Garcia. In November 2015, a new passenger terminal was inaugurated in the port to replace the original facility that sustained heavy damage when a 7.1-magnitude quake rocked the province in 2013. The new facility has a seating capacity of 500 and is equipped with X-ray machines, nursing rooms, a ballistic exam room, prayer room and other amenities.
