Pagasa sees LPA east of Visayas, rains expected
A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted 1,095 kilometers east of Visayas on Friday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA, which was seen still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), was monitored at 4 p.m.
Pagasa said an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) was affecting CARAGA, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Central and Western Visayas. The areas experiencing ITCZ would experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
As of 5 p.m. some parts of Metro Manila is experiencing moderate rains and thunderstorms making some of the road inundated by floodwaters. JPV
