DAVAO CITY – Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea) chief Isidro Lapeña said on Friday some 2.246 tons of illegal drugs valued at P12.62 billion had been seized in various police operations in the country since President Duterte came to power a year ago today.
Lapeña said during the Mindanao Hour forum the volume is 198 per cent more than the volume of illegal drugs seized during the final year of the Aquino administration, a proof that the current regime’s war on drugs was succeeding.
He said more than 1.3 million drug suspects had surrendered to the government which has now shifted its operation to clearing villages of the drug menace. GAL/rga
