3 robbers killed in shootout with Pampanga cops
MANILA, Philippines — Three robbers were killed in a shootout with police in Pampanga before dawn Wednesday, said Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., spokesman of the Philippine National Police.
In a text message to reporters, Cruz said the suspects, who robbed a sari-sari store in Sindalan village, San Fernando City, were on board a single motorcycle.
The shootout happened at 2 a.m. when the suspects fired at responding San Fernando City Police who chanced upon the suspects and tried to flag down the motorcycle they were riding.
The lawmen fired back and eventually killed two of the alleged robbers, said the PNP spokesman.
The third suspect was killed in a pursuit operation conducted by an augmentation team from the Regional Public Safety Battalion, Provincial Public Safety Company, and Special Weapons and Tactics.
Police have yet to identify the suspects.
