Joavan in second feud in 2 days

A DAY after he allegedly threatened a traffic enforcer, controversial adopted son Joavan Fernandez is caught in yet another tussle this time in a fast-food outlet in barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, yesterday dawn.

Regie Aranas, a 24-year-old resident of barangay Bulacao, Pardo, Cebu City, was admitted to the Talisay City District Hospital minutes after Joavan allegedly struck him with a bottle at the Andok’s eatery in barangay Tabunok.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim and his friends went to Andok were about to pay their bills when Joavan approached one of Aranas’ female friend and angered her.

Aranas reportedly warned Joavan not to mess around with the girl, which angered Joavan.

Witnesses said Joavan grabbed a bottle and struck Aranas’ head.

Joavan denied that  he provoked the girl, since he didn’t know that she was with Aranas.

Joavan claimed that Aranas stared at him and he confronted him to ask why he stared at him.

He said he was angry at Aranas for staring at him from head to foot.

Joavan also denied that he mauled Marlorenz Monreal, a member of the City of Talisay-Traffic Operation Division Authoritiy (CT-TODA).

In a complaint recorded at the Talisay City police precinct, Monreal said Joavan allegedly threatened to kill him after he flagged him down for a traffic violation. Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
