CYBERPORN CASE NEEDS ‘TRANSLATION’
THE hearing on the cyberpornography case in Cordova has been reset to Dec. 9 because the court wants the full transcript of the interview of the victims translated to English.
During the hearing yesterday, the prosecution presented Dr. Noemi Poca of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC).
Poca handled the forensic interview of the children involved in the case conducted last June 1.
Provincial Prosecutor Lolita Lomanta said they invoked Sec. 29 of the rule of examination of a child witness, which allows them not to present the child witness if it exposes or causes the child severe psychological injury.
Instead, the prosecution will just present the person who conducted the interview and a video or audio tape of the interview.

THE top official of the Philippine National Police in Region 7 welcomed the offer of Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale to provide female doctors to screen female police applicants.
Magpale made the offer after a female police applicant filed harassment complaints against a medical officer of the Regional Health Services for allegedly going beyond the line during her medical examination.
PRO-7 Director Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo said Magpale’s offer will surely be of big help as the RHS lack female doctors.
RHS chief Antoniette Langcauon also welcomed Magpale’s offer but said the doctors must be accredited by the Department of Health and RHS also needs to coordinate with the National Police Commission before accepting the offer./Correspondent Chito Aragon
