RAPE charges were filed in court against a man who allegedly molested a 22-year-old female student in Cebu City.
The Cebu City Prosecutors’ Office found probable cause to indict Dexter Silangan Paalisbo who is set to face trial in court.
Bail was recommended at P40,000.
In his resolution, Assistant City Prosecutor Ernesto Narido gave credence to the claims of the victim over the denial of the accused.
“It is unimaginable that she (victim) went through the rigors of having her private parts examined if her claim is not true,” Narido explained.
Paalisbo along with his companions Darwin Barbosa and Antonio Molina are accused of sexually molesting the victim.
Of the three, only Paalisbo got arrested by police.
Paalisbo is an alumnus of the school near the area where the alleged rape took place.
The two other respondents are presently studying in the school.
The victim, a third year medical technology student, had a drinking session with her boyfriend and the respondents somewhere outside the school last Oct. 14.
After the drinking session, the woman and her boyfriend went inside a room and slept.
Police said while the couple was asleep, the woman felt someone touching her private parts.
The woman ignored it, thinking it was just her boyfriend.
The woman began shouting when she noticed that her boyfriend was asleep.
Several men were seen running away when the woman alerted her boyfriend.
The woman went home and informed her father of the incident.
The father sought help from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas that led to the arrest of Paalisbo./REPORTER ADOR VINCENT S. MAYOL
