Elite triumphs in D-League

ISIAH Ciriacruz and Clark Bautista gave Blackwater some crucial baskets in the third period which pushed the Elite to a 92-86 win over Café France in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup yesterday at the Lyceum University gym.

The Elite, who had a rough sailing against the Bakers, were holding on to a precarious one-point lead when the backcourt duo took matters into their hands.

Isiah Ciariacruz hit a three then scored on a fastbreak play while Bautista drained two three-pointers and made a pair of free throws as Blackwater closed the third period with a 20-10 blast to put the game under control.

Significantly, Blackwater assumed the solo lead in the tournament with its third win in as many games.  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
