LEGAZPI CITY — One person was killed while another was wounded after a rifle grenade exploded on Friday evening in Iriga City in Camarines Sur province, police said Saturday.
Senior Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said in a report that the rifle grenade suddenly exploded while being held by Roy Tino, 48, at around 7:30 p.m. Friday in Barangay (village) San Nicolas. It was not immediately known how Tino came into possession of the grenade.
A rifle grenade is a type of explosive that uses a rifle-based launcher to permit a longer effective range than that of the hand grenade.
