Malacañang has declared June 24 as special non-working day in the city of Manila as it celebrates its 446th Foundation Day.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, on behalf of President Rodrigo Duterte, signed Proclamation No. 208 on May 19 formalizing the directive covering the entire city of Manila to pave the way for the founding anniversary celebration.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the city of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” the proclamation read. JPV/rga
